safety first

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Nothing is more important than sending our people home safe every day.

Safety is an integral part of our culture. It sets the tone for how we manage our employees and trade partners, ensuring everyone returns home safely at the end of the day. Our employees and trade partners know the one absolute goal we try to achieve every day when we come to work — ZERO INCIDENTS.

Pacific Rim has consistently maintained a DART (Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred) and TRC (Total Recordable Incident Rate) rate below 1.4, lower than the average industry standard of 1.5. However, in the past three consecutive years, Pacific Rim has achieved and maintained ZERO DART and TRC rates.

Our safety program complies with all applicable Federal Occupational Safety and Health standards, such as the US Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual, EM 385-1-1, UFC 3-560- 01 Operation and Maintenance of Electrical Safety, and Public Law 91-596, Occupational Safety and Health Act.

The STEP Award recognizes contractors with exceptional safety performance. In the past five years, Pacific Rim has received five STEP Awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors, including Silver, Platinum, and Diamond levels.

We begin everything with safety in mind.

Prioritizing safety, Minimizing Risk

At Pacific Rim, safety is not just a legal obligation, but a strategic investment in the well-being of our employees and subcontractors and our long-term success. We believe that a safe work environment contributes to a positive workplace culture, employee satisfaction, and the firm’s overall sustainability.
Here are key reason why safety is vital component of Pacific Rim:

safety culture

Our employees are actively engaged in developing our safety processes leading to a safetyconscious culture where everyone is responsible for their own and their colleagues’ well-being.

Legal Compliance

Adhering to safety regulations and standards is not just a legal requirement; it helps protect our company and client from potential legal liabilities, fines, and penalties.

Financial impact

Safety measures can contribute to cost reduction by minimizing workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses. This results in lower workers’ compensation costs, medical expenses, and potential legal fees.

Company Commitment

Pacific Rim’s commitment to safety encompasses our main objective of protecting the lives and wellbeing of our workforce and trade partners. This commitment extends to the broader community in which we operate.

Productivity and morale

A safe workplace contributes to higher employee morale and job satisfaction, which, in turn, boosts productivity. We believe that employees and trade partners are more engaged and efficient when they feel secure in their work environment.

Employee Well-Being

A safe work environment ensures that our employees and trade partners are protected from accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses, promoting their physical and mental health.

Business Continuity

Ensuring a safe working environment helps prevent disruptions to business operations caused by accidents or incidents that may result in the temporary shutdown of operations.

Risk mitigation

Safety measures are a crucial component of our risk management process. By identifying and mitigating potential hazards, Pacific Rim proactively reduces the likelihood of accidents and the associated risks.
